Audio House in Liang Court near Clark Quay has a nice selection and sales reps that are not too aggressive. You may be able to negotiate a better price at Sim Lim on Rocher Canal Rd, but beware the sales techniques. Funan on North Bridge Rd has a decent selection as well.

Reminiscent of an American Christian bookstore. Has a huge & varied selection of not only books, but cards, gifts, dvds, cds and more. They also have tons of Bibles in different versions. Very helpful staff and a joy to shop. Located on Outram Rd. in Tan Boon Liat Bldg. (just right after Holiday Inn Hotel) ...looks like an HDB bldg., but actually many other shops. Take the elevator up to 9th floor.  Happy browsing!
