Kitchen Mart

UPDATE 17 APRIL 2012:
The Kitchen Mart has moved all its stock to a warehouse directly across the street from this shop. This shop is being town down. The warehouse is open but is small and you can't really see everything. It is crammed full and not really user-friendly. They tell me they will reopen the shop at some point. 


I would recommend calling before going. If you know what you want, call and they can get it out for you.  You can go and browse, but it's not easy!!!

Try "Breakfast with the Birds" at 9:15am to start your day at the park. Be there about 9am, buy any breakfast items from the "Bongo Burger" restaurant right by the front gate, and you get to go and sit at tables nearby and enjoy your own little bird show starting 9:15am. There is no other cost besides your breakfast (about $6 each or just buy coffee and juice) There is a clever macaw who talks and one who does tricks, you get to feed ducks...it is a fun way for kids to start a day with the birds. It lasts about 20 minutes. It gets really hot by midday so it is good to get going early like this, and the kids love this special show!

Family Pizza Place

Craving for an absolutely yummy wood-fired, thin-crust pizza? Try this pizzeria at the Greenwood neighborhood (off Dunearn Rd.) Our family loves going to this italian place, where even the simplest pizza satisfies. They also have pasta dishes and good desserts. The kids love doodling with the crayons on the tables while waiting. Though the location is somewhat inconvenient, and parking is limited (plenty of eateries nearby), it's worth going to. Reservations are recommended, otherwise plan to eat at odd times. It's open everyday from 12 noon to 12 midnight anyway.
